Trio Fibonacci - Brothers in Music

Guest presenters

Beethoven, Haydn, Reicha: three representatives of Viennese classicism are brought together in a concert that also echoes their encounters during their lifetimes. The trio begins by resurrecting Anton Reicha's rare but magnificent Trio in D minor, also highlighting his friendship with Beethoven, with whom he shared both the orchestra pit in Bonn and an admiration for Haydn. Followed by a work by 'Papa Haydn' himself, showing us that his trios can impress every bit as much as his famous quartets. Finally, Beethoven's monumental Archduke Trio is praised for its sublime inspiration and inventive fantasy. This work, a pillar of chamber music, gives the full measure of the immeasurable talent of this other founder of the Viennese school.
