Join us for an evening of festivities around the exhibition Marisol: A Retrospective.

PROGRAM

  • Immerse yourself in the artistic effervescence of the ’60s and discover the works of Marisol (1930-2016), a visionary artist associated with the Pop art movement!

  • For this last edition of the POP Happenings, talented avant-garde artist and DJ Elle Barbara invites you to plunge into her captivating musical universe, which combines elements of soul, psychedelia, jazz, glam and underground.

  • A creative workshop inspired by the mysterious and unique artistic universe of Marisol will also be offered.

About Marisol: A Retrospective
An exhibition organized by the Buffalo AKG Art Museum and supported by a major grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. Critical work related to this exhibition and collection was made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.

The exhibition is curated by Cathleen Chaffee, Charles Balbach Chief Curator of the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. The Montreal presentation is curated by Mary-Dailey Desmarais, Chief Curator of the MMFA, in collaboration with Alexandrine Théorêt, Assistant Curator of International Modern and Contemporary Art, MMFA.
