Victoire Bunel, mezzo-soprano & Gaspard Dehaene, piano - Schubert and French mélodies

Complete Schubert Lieder: Year 2

An image of the sea that Schubert never glimpsed, depicted in French mélodies that he never heard, entices him while he remains stuck on dry land. As a form of consolation, the suffering of the Schubertian traveller recounted in these lieder is answered by the play of the waves in songs by Fauré, Chausson, Marguerite Canal, and Lili Boulanger.
