It is with great pleasure that the MMFA Foundation is announcing that the 64th edition of the Museum Ball will be co-chaired by Deborah K. Orida, President and CEO of PSP Investments, and Abe Adham, Chair, Quebec Market at TD Bank Financial Group.
“The Museum Ball is one of the most important fundraising events of the year, in terms of both its scale and its impact. It’s an opportunity for the philanthropic community to come together in a magnificent setting to support a cultural institution that plays a key role in the lives of Montrealers of all ages and backgrounds,” say Deborah K. Orida and Abe Adham.
This year’s Ball will be held on October 26 and themed on the major exhibition Saints, Sinners, Lovers and Fools: Three Hundred Years of Flemish Masterworks in all the splendour and sensuality it evokes. Close to 1,000 guests are set to gather in the Museum’s galleries, which will be transformed for the evening to accommodate a Baroque-inspired gastronomic banquet and extravagant festivities.
“The generosity of the community is essential to the MMFA’s future. Every year, I’m heartened to see how dear the Museum is to people, who come together in great numbers to celebrate and support it. ‘The Museum Transforms Lives’ is the slogan of our major fundraising campaign, and the truth of these words manifests in everything we do,” says Jo-Anne Duchesne, Director General of the MMFA Foundation.
The proceeds from this prestigious event will be used to finance the Museum’s key priorities. All donations will contribute to the Foundation’s Major Fundraising Campaign, The Museum Transforms Lives. Through the strength of its programming, its community engagement initiatives, its art therapy activities, and an awe-inspiring collection, the MMFA strives to use the transformative powers of art to better peoples’ lives.
