Don’t miss the very first Quebec edition of Micro-Folie at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée de la civilisation in Quebec City during this year’s Journées de la culture.
On September 29 and 30 and October 1st, come out and discover Micro-Folie, a travelling digital museum for families making its first appearance at the MMFA. Bring your friends and family: it’s free!
Explore Collection Québec, which brings together over a hundred historical works and objects from the collections of the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts and the Musée de la civilisation in Quebec City. Armed with a tablet, select your favourites and take on fun challenges. Our mediators will be on hand to help you discover the works from new and fascinating angles. It’s a unique way to learn more about our rich cultural and artistic heritage.
An innovative educational project with a global reach
Coordinated by La Villette in Paris and supported by the French Ministry of Culture, Micro-Folie seeks to reduce geographic disparities by offering unprecedented access to the treasures of the world’s largest cultural institutions. By partnering with this project, the Musée de la civilisation and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts are joining a vast network of over 275 members across the globe.
The first collaboration of its kind between these two Quebec institutions, the Collection Québec for Micro-Folie brings together key cultural objects from their collections, making them more accessible thanks to an educational and interdisciplinary approach. After the stops in Montreal and Quebec City, Micro-Folie will continue to bring Quebec culture to audiences around the world.
This project has been made possible through financial support from the Government of Quebec.
