The Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) is pleased to announce the arrival of Michèle Meier in the position of Director of Communications and Marketing, as well as the promotion of Marie-Claude Lizée to Associate Director of Communications.
“Michèle Meier is a top-level communicator and a lover of art and culture. We are indeed privileged to welcome her as Director of Communications and Marketing. Her coming here coincides with an organizational change at the Museum, since from now on Membership and Customer Service will be a part of her division. Michèle will therefore be able to work more effectively in harmonizing the experience we offer our public. The Museum and its visitors will certainly benefit from Michèle’s great expertise and we wish her a warm welcome.” Stéphane Aquin, Director, MMFA
**AN OUTSTANDING COMMUNICATIONS PROFESSIONAL **
Michèle Meier has helped build, promote and protect national and international brands for close to 30 years, over 15 of which have also been devoted to developing their corporate social responsibility strategies. She possesses a wealth of experience in a wide variety of areas, but it was her love of the arts and the opportunity to combine both her personal and professional passions that, as she readily admits, led her to accept an offer from the MMFA she “could not refuse.” Michèle is known for her excellent interpersonal skills and for making real contributions through creative and strategic initiatives that provide long-term value and positive impact. Multilingual Michèle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Université de Montréal and a Master’s in Business Administration from McGill University–HEC Montréal.
**AN IDEAL CHOICE AS ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR **
Marie-Claude Lizée, who has a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration as well as a DESS (specialized graduate diploma) in marketing communications from HEC Montréal, has been working in the advertising and communications field since 2003. She joined the MMFA team in November 2008 to take up the position of Advertising Coordinator. In 2013, she was promoted to Head of Advertising, Promotions and Digital Communications, a role in which she has dealt with the promotional challenges related to the Museum’s exhibitions and activities, as well as the upsurge in importance of social media as a way of communicating with the public. Valued and respected by her colleagues, Marie-Claude brilliantly handled interim management of communications during the months of transition. Her team spirit, passion for communications and proactive attitude make her an excellent leader and an exceptional ally for the new Communications and Marketing management.
Michèle Meier and Marie-Claude Lizée assume their respective positions as of today. The entire Museum team wishes them every success in their new roles.
