On Saturday, February 26, Montréal en lumière festival is inviting Montrealers to come out for Nuit blanche: a marathon of exciting activities spanning the four corners of city. At the stroke of dusk, fall under the spell of the fantastical world of artist Nicolas Party at the MMFA. From 5 p.m. to midnight, take advantage of half-price admission to see the major exhibition Nicolas Party : L’heure mauve (Mauve Twilight), set to song by Pierre Lapointe. Admission is free for people aged 20 and under.
Considered to be a major artist of our time, Nicolas Party is known for his meticulously composed pastels, his painted sculptures and his installations drenched in saturated colours. For his first exhibition in Canada, the MMFA gave him carte blanche to create a dialogue between his works and a selection from the Museum’s wide-ranging collection.
Through over 100 works and a series of monumental murals realized in situ, the Swiss-born artist presents a dreamlike experience on the theme of nature. Central to this exhibition are some of our era’s most pressing questions, those of a planet that has reached its twilight, its “heure mauve.”
Join the party and reserve your tickets online now.
