POP Montréal: In conversation with… John Cale
In collaboration with POP Montréal, the MMFA is hosting legendary Welsh musician, composer and producer John Cale. During this interview, the artist will discuss his storied career, including his involvement with the Fluxus movement and explorations into drone-based music, his highly influential period as a founding member of the seminal experimental rock band the Velvet Underground, the creation of his solo albums and his significant body of work as a composer and studio producer for renowned artists like Patti Smith, Nick Drake, Nico, and the Stooges, as well as the friendships he made when he lived at the Chelsea Hotel, at the same time as Robert Mapplethorpe.
