In spring 2022, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts (MMFA) announced the establishment of a research fund in memory of Danièle Archambault, a registrar and archivist who worked for the Museum from 1999 to 2019. This fund enables the biennial hiring of a recent graduate in archival management to oversee one of the Museum’s many archive groups.
For this first edition of the fund, the Museum is delighted to welcome on board Imane Mohamedi, newly graduated from Université de Montréal with a Certificate in Archive Administration, who is currently pursuing a Certificate in Digital Information Management at the same university.
Mohamedi will be tasked with completing the registration of the Frederick Cleveland Morgan archive, a major archive group that bears witness to the collecting activities of this patron as well as to his involvement in enriching the Museum’s decorative arts collection, which he curated on a volunteer basis for close to 50 years.
The Museum wishes to thank the members of its Board of Trustees, including in particular Sari Hornstein and G. Pierre Lapointe, as well as two of its Governors Emeriti, Marcel Elefant and Roger Fournelle, and all the employees past and present who helped establish this fund in memory of Danièle Archambault.
Anyone wishing to contribute to the Danièle Archambault Research Fund can do so by contacting the MMFA Foundation at 514-285-1600, ext. 227.
