The 2024 Museum Ball
Nearly $2 million raised
Your support makes a real difference in the lives of the hundreds of thousands of people who visit the Museum each year and whose existence is transformed by the magic of art.
– Jo-Anne Duchesne, Director of the MMFA Foundation, and Stéphane Aquin, Director of the MMFA
On Saturday October 26, 2024, nearly 1,000 guests gathered for the 64th edition of the Museum Ball, immersing themselves in a captivating Baroque-style setting inspired by the exhibition Saints, Sinners, Lovers and Fools.
This prestigious charity event, part of the Museum’s major fundraising campaign The Museum Transforms Lives, was once again able to count on the support of a dedicated community.
Nearly $2 million was raised to help secure the institution’s future and fund its top priorities: programming, promotion of its collection, maintenance and development of its education and community engagement programs, and accessibility.
The honorary co-chairs of this highly anticipated event were Deborah K. Orida, President and CEO of PSP Investments, and Abe Adham, Chair, Quebec Market, TD Bank Financial Group.
Reflecting the evening’s Baroque theme, guests rivalled one another in style and originality as they toured the major exhibition Saints, Sinners, Lovers and Fools: Three Hundred Years of Flemish Masterpieces, before sitting down to enjoy a gourmet meal created by chef and author Laurent Dagenais. The terroir-inspired menu was masterfully executed by the team of Fairmont The Queen Elizabeth, under the direction of Armando Arruda, executive chef Jean-Mark Léon and catering chefs Pablo Gonzalez and Hervé Dumont.
The sumptuous and spectacular banquet rooms featured nearly thirty works from the MMFA’s collection by artists such as Kent Monkman, Janet Werner, Pierre Dorion, François Lacasse and Guillaume Simoneau, who joined in the evening’s festivities. Xénia Lucie Laffely was also invited to design one of the spaces of the prestigious event.
This major benefit event was organized by Christiane Fabi, Alice Menut and Pamela Plamondon Deliard. The enchanting artistic direction, with its nod to the seven deadly sins, was provided by the MMFA Foundation team and Alexis Johnston Benamou.
The Foundation thanks the Museum’s internal teams for their precious collaboration.

Why support the MMFA
Because the Museum is a non-profit organization, it greatly depends on the support it receives from its community. It is one of the city’s major attractions and literally transforms lives through its awe-inspiring and thought-provoking exhibitions, its art therapy and community engagement initiatives, and its world-renowned collection.
Together, let us strive to make the power of art accessible to everyone.
The Museum Ball is one of the most important fundraising events of the year, in terms of both its scale and its impact. It’s an opportunity for the philanthropic community to come together in a magnificent setting to support a cultural institution that plays a key role in the lives of Montrealers of all ages and backgrounds.
