Quebec and Canadian Art

Kathleen Morris painted many urban views of Ottawa and Montreal, particularly in winter. As in her rural scenes, the motifs that seem to interest her most are buildings and traditional activities. An instance of this is the frequent inclusion of teams of draft horses, usually placed in the foreground. The artist often energizes her compositions with the range of tones of snow and horse blankets.
