Quebec and Canadian Art

Between 1913 and 1921, setting aside allusions to the world of art to represent elements visible in nature, Ozias Leduc executed nine frankly Symbolist landscapes, three of which are exhibited here. All are bathed in a strange light, suggesting the interaction and merging of these elements. Art can only be the path that leads to beauty by way of intimate acquaintance with nature’s mysteries and the effort to unveil them.
